Israel Lifts Most Wartime Restrictions after 48 Days
After 48 days, the Israeli army has lifted almost all wartime restrictions across the country. The move comes as ceasefires with both Lebanon and Iran appear stable.
The Home Front Command said the restrictions had been in place since 28 February, when the United States and Israel launched joint air strikes on Iran. The situation has now stabilised sufficiently for most measures to be lifted.
Restrictions on gatherings have been removed nationwide, except in areas near the Lebanese border. There, the limit remains set at 1,000 people until 8 p.m. on Saturday.
The army said it would also lift restrictions in border communities after that date. Schools and workplaces can now operate as normal across Israel.
This marks the first time since the start of the conflict that the country has moved towards an almost complete lifting of wartime measures.
