Trump gives Iran 48 hours to make a deal

US President Donald Trump has warned Iran to open the Strait of Hormuz by a deadline he set earlier or face severe consequences, saying ‘all Hell will reign down on them’.

In a post on his Truth Social app, he wrote: ‘Remember when I gave Iran ten days to MAKE A DEAL or OPEN UP THE HORMUZ STRAIT. Time is running out - 48 hours before all Hell will reign down on them. Glory be to GOD! President DONALD J. TRUMP.’

On 27 February, according to the British newspaper The Guardian, the US president extended the deadline for Iran to open the key sea route to 6 April.
