Drone hits Red Cross aid warehouse in Iran
A drone strike in southern Iran has hit a warehouse storing humanitarian aid and rescue supplies, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies said. The incident occurred in Bushehr province in the early hours of the morning.
Two containers, two buses and an unspecified number of rescue vehicles were destroyed in the attack, according to a spokeswoman for the organisation. It remains unclear who carried out the strike or what caused it.
The humanitarian organisation, which operates across Iran, has around 100,000 staff. It has lost three members since the start of the US-Israeli attacks on the country on 28 February.
Officials say the situation in the country is deteriorating. Healthcare needs are rising and there are concerns that aid supplies could run out if the conflict continues.
