China and Russia Pledge Deeper Military Cooperation
Chinese Defense Minister Dong Jun met his Russian counterpart during a visit to Russia, with both sides pledging to strengthen strategic cooperation.
According to a statement from China’s Defense Ministry, the two sides agreed to deepen practical cooperation across all areas and to step up communication between their militaries.
The talks covered not only bilateral military relations but also the broader international situation and regional issues. Both countries stressed the need to “safeguard global justice and international order”, underlining their shared position on geopolitical challenges.
The visit forms part of Dong’s broader trip to Russia and Kyrgyzstan, where he will also attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation defense ministers’ meeting.
