U.S. sends migrants to Africa, Congo accepts deportees

The United States has reached a new agreement with the Democratic Republic of Congo that will allow the transfer of deported third-country migrants to its territory. The transfers are due to begin in April and will be funded by Washington.

The Congolese government has prepared facilities near Kinshasa where the deportees will be housed. However, it is not yet clear how many people the country will accept.
