Ukraine and Russia exchanged the bodies of fallen soldiers

Russia and Ukraine have carried out another exchange of the bodies of fallen soldiers. Moscow handed over the remains of a thousand soldiers to Ukraine, while Kiev returned 38 bodies to Russia. According to the Ukrainian side, this is a routine step to enable the relatives of the fallen to give them a dignified burial.

The exchange of the dead has become a common part of the war, although the exchange of prisoners is stalled. The last such exchange took place in October 2025, and since then, the parties have accused each other of blocking agreements.
