Russian army controls Myrnohrad, mechanized attack expected
Russian troops have almost completely taken control of Myrnohrad in the Donetsk region. According to a Ukrainian marine officer, Moscow has already deployed artillery, equipment, and command structures in the city.
Fighting is concentrated in the north, where Ukrainian forces are trying to prevent the enemy from advancing and limit its movement out of the city, writes Ukrayinska Pravda.
Clashes are also continuing in the city center. There and in the south, the Russians have reportedly already gathered equipment and soldiers, and mechanized attacks are expected.
"There is already a Russian command post in Myrnohrad, we have seen civilians being escorted away with their belongings. We are retreating, moving, the infantry is trying to hold the exits from Myrnohrad. Now our task is to prevent them from leaving the city," said an officer.
The Ukrainian defense faces a significant Russian air superiority—they have deployed aircraft and drones. The western exits from the city are already in the so-called gray zone, and no evacuation order has been issued yet.
